Leg 1: Start of leg GR: SN609088

| Stop, look and listen for trains and if all is clear cross the railway and take the tarmac path to the church you see ahead. At the church turn left through the car park and look for the pedestrian gate ahead of you. Go through the gate onto the grassy path and proceed along it until you get to the embankment of the Afon Leri. At the church car park look for the small pets Cemetery in front of the graveyard.Along the grassy path look out for the slate seat with the plaque to Uppingham School which evacuated to Borth in 1866 and 1867 owing to a typhoid epidemic in their own locality in England. |

| When you arrive at the river embankment turn immediately left onto the path along it and proceed northwards, downstream, for just over three quarters of a mile until you come to a metal gate with a wooden pedestrian gate on its left. The riverbank is full of interest especially for birdwatchers though on this section the river itself is not very obvious owing to the adjoing tall reed beds. |

| Shortly after the gate turn left on to a track towards. This track takes you through the adjoining reeds and wetland which provides an ideal habitat for marshland birds. As you get to the railway crossing, stop, look and listen. If all is well cross the railway and continue on the track as it crosses the golf course to the main road. |

| Cross the road and go through the pedestrian gate to ascend on to the sea embankment. Walk along the embankment towards Borth and when you are opposite the road to the station descend the steps and go a final 100 yards to your start point at the station |
